THE FABRIC COLLECTIONS
William Yeoward's Third collection RANAKPUR comes from his soul. "My appreciation of texture, colour and form has grown in many directions. My love of India and Asia has given me an opportunity to paint with a broad and vivid brush my interpretation of these lands".
In Yeoward's collection he has indeed given much thought and committment to this comment.
His strong desire to give continuity to his work has meant that he has produced "Hortense" his abstract rose as a woven fabric. Coloured to take his palette forward, but also to give a nod to his previous work he shows this timeless design in 5 new and invigorating combinations.
Sitting happily with Hortense is the collection's title fabric "Ranakpur".
"I saw wheels of colour in the sky on a recent visit to Northern India, and soon with delight, I realised that Ranakpur was borne out of these shapes and images". "For a change of gear and texture I havve been entranced by embriodered silks: Chittogarh - foliage on crisp fresh colour makes a marvellous splash of exotic in many interiors."
Together with Samudra hiis flocked silk Yeoward indeed follows his idiom of "texture must be the canvas on which to paint colour". A chain stitched design; Kothi worked from intricate marble carvings and coloured to sit happily amongst his chosen clothes, Yeoward finally draws his story neatly to a close with two dutiful plains. Nanette and Mitah make the perfect bed in which to plant hi jewel colours this season.
